렉사일(Lexile)이란?

 

아이들이 너무 어려운 책을 읽으면 흥미를 잃고, 너무 쉬운 책만 읽으면 실력이 늘지 않아요. 렉사일 지수를 활용하면 아이에게 딱 맞는 책을 찾아줄 수 있어요!
연구에 따르면, 자신의 렉사일 지수보다 50L 아래에서 100L 위 정도의 책을 읽는 것이 가장 적절하다고 해요. 이해할 수 있으면서도 약간 도전적인 수준이기 때문이죠.

Part1. "The Throne Dispute" On a bright morning, the sun poured into the cozy living room where three cats—Luna, Max, and Coco—lived. Max, the biggest of the three, stretched his paws. "No way, Luna. The top is for the strongest!" Coco, the smallest but fastest, flicked her ears. "Then it's mine! I can jump the highest!" And so, the battle began. Luna dashed up first, but Max blocked her with a playful swat. "Not so fast, little princess!" Coco leaped onto a side platform, then tried to jump past Max. But Max, being bigger, gently pushed her back down. "Hey! That’s not fair!" Coco huffed. Luna tried again, sneaking from another side, but Max was too strong. They meowed, pawed, and tumbled—each wanting to be the ruler of the highest spot.

 

 

Part2. "The Struggle and Realization" After minutes of endless climbing and playful wrestling, all three cats were exhausted. Max flopped onto the second-highest platform. "Ugh, I'm tired..." Luna sat on the cozy cube, licking her paw. "Maybe... this spot isn't so bad." Coco, curled up in one of the transparent bowls, purred. "Actually, I like this too!" They blinked at each other. "Maybe we don’t all need the top," Max said, stretching his big paws. Luna looked at her soft, comfy cube. "And we each have a perfect place!" Coco rolled onto her back. "This bowl is nice and cool!" They realized something: They didn’t need to fight for one spot when they all had places that suited them best.

 

 

Part3. "The Kingdom of Harmony" From that day on, the cat tower became their shared kingdom. Max, the guardian, ruled from the second-highest spot, keeping watch over the house. Luna, the princess, made the cozy cube her royal chamber. Coco, the acrobat, loved her see-through bowl, watching the world upside-down. When their owner saw them, they smiled. "Looks like everyone found their perfect throne!" The three cats purred happily, knowing that sharing made their kingdom stronger.
